Lately

So, I've had all of these great blog posts bouncing around in my head for the past few weeks. The thing is though, we don't have internet at our home plus we have a 3month old so.....in my head they've stayed. But I will now "brain dump" on you. Enjoy!

My birthday was at the end of March. I turned 25...What? You can't hear me? I said, I turned 25....I TURNED 25! AHHH!!

I don't know why but 25 bothered me a little bit. It sounds old. Grown up. BORING.

I mean, I am a grown up, I guess...Married for almost 3 years, I have a baby, I pay bills...yeah, I'm a grown up. But I'd like to think I'm not boring ;)

I digress...

It was a pretty fun birthday. My sweet husband took me to J. Alexander's for dinner. It was our first time there & it was SO yummy! Of course, we were home by 6:30 because we had a baby with us (this isn't helping my anti-boring campaign, is it?) but we were full and tired from another busy week. Plus Little Man wasn't feeling so great.

Saturday morning wasn't so fun. We made our 2nd Saturday morning trip to the on-call pediatrician:

Poor guy. However, the Dr. told me he was fine & suggested maybe he had been fussing because there might have been...get this!....wait for it....A HAIR CAUGHT ON HIS TOE.

Yes, you read that right. A hair caught on his toe.

LADY! I know I'm a first time mom but PLEASE give me SOME credit here. Sheesh!

Sunday he seemed to be better but we had a big afternoon ahead so we stayed home from church & played with a new toy, our Baby Einstein exersaucer!

I think it's so cute how his little baby feet don't even reach the bottom yet. But he seemed to enjoy himself. That afternoon we had family pictures made by the wonderful, awesome, oh-so-talented Mary Margaret Smith. Now, of course I think she's a great person, she is one of my dearest friends but really she is so talented! Her work speaks for itself.

I love my family and I love that we're all so close. I wanted to get these done before my brother, David, leaves for Parris Island. Yes, he is a Marine recruit. I'm proud and sad all at the same time. I won't go on, I might cry, but we had a fun afternoon and we have the pictures to prove it.

After we finished up our photo session we headed over to Jackson's in SoHo Square for my birthday dinner! It was so fun! Oh, I forgot to mention, my sweet husband got me an awesome video camera for my birthday! So, where are the vids? Well, I can't figure out how to put them on my computer. Yes, I'm dumb. (I'll figure it out later and share them then. I have to get back to writing, the baby's napping!)

We ate yummy food and talked and laughed and I opened gifts and of course, we played on our cell phones because what red-blooded American family doesn't play on their phones during dinner these days?

Here's my darling husband & me:

And here is Aunt Anna with our little snuggle bug:

Monday evening the fun continued! Anderson & I met up with 3 of my best friends, Amy, Kristin & Jessica at Pinkberry. It was especially fun & meaningful because it was the first time all 4 of us had been together since Anderson had been born! They love him so much & I love seeing them love him!

This week had been busy as well. One morning Anderson worked very hard on his toys, like work-without-a-shirt-because-I'm-A-Man hard:

He was pretty tired from his hard work so he decided he needed to kick back in his recliner & watch some Baby Einstein:

Yesterday he got back to work by practicing sitting up in Annalise's boppy:

And what kind of post would this be if I didn't leave you with some adorable sleeping baby photos?:
